Rent-A-Daughter Moves to Menomonee Falls

Rob and Jean Henke

Thank you for allowing me to introduce you to Rent-A-Daughter.

We are a non-medical home care agency serving the elderly in the Milwaukee metropolitan area. The RAD office has recently moved to Menomonee Falls. After 40 years as residents of Wauwatosa, Rob and I have also relocated to Menomonee Falls.

For over 37 years, aging adults and those who love them have received compassionate and loving care from the Rent-A-Daughter staff. We are a non-franchised, family-owned agency with a mission to help older adults live as independently as possible. Our desire is to come along side of families and become an extension of the love and compassion that people receive from their own families.

Rob and I bought RAD in 2001 from the woman who started it in 1985. Rob developed a love for elder care when working as CFO in a continuing care retirement facility in the Milwaukee area. It was during those years that he began to understand more than just the financial side of things. Rob began learning about the balance between wise business decisions and compassionate care and that people were what really mattered. His 12 years as CFO and later as CEO prepared him well for the next steps ahead. I joined Rob in full time work at RAD in 2004 and our daughter, Alison, also joined the RAD staff, first as a caregiver and then full time in the office. Sam, our oldest son, also worked with us up until his death in 2013.

When we took ownership of Rent-A-Daughter there were approximately 40 caregivers and an office staff of 4. As the needs of the aging population increased Rent-A-Daughter has grown. Today we employ over 100 caregivers and an office staff of 10.

Our greatest challenge is finding compassionate caregivers who share the same mission and values as RAD. We are always looking and praying for compassionate hearts to join our team in serving the needs of the seniors in the community. Our core values guide all that we do and the culture of caring that we desire to provide:

  • We desire to maintain consistency in our demeanor and treat others as we would want to be treated.
  • We strive to fulfill our commitments by delivering services as promised.
  • We want to act with integrity; doing the right thing when no one is watching.
  • We desire to treat everyone we encounter with care and understanding.
  • We clearly represent our services and take responsibility for our actions.
  •  Above all else, we put on love.

Our dedicated caregivers are the very heart and soul of Rent-A-Daughter. As their employer, we strive to care for them as they care for our clients. They are not just employees, they are people with lives and stories that have chosen to join in our mission of serving older adults. They too deserve love and attention. Our caregivers are supported by an office staff who earnestly desires to provide a network of care for the people we serve. Because of this commitment you will find our office staff to be compassionate and responsive to our client’s needs and requests.

We have been privileged to be recognized as a Top Workplace by the Journal/Sentinel since 2017 and to have earned a Top 100 Leader in Experience award, the highest honor a home care provider can earn from Home Care Pulse, an independent experience management company.  Only 100 home care providers with the highest overall satisfaction ratings in North America receive this award. Rent-A-Daughter was rated number 41 in the top 100. We feel so blessed to receive these awards and give the glory to God and the thanks to our amazing caregiving staff as well as a wonderful office staff.

Our core belief at Rent-A-Daughter is that every person, throughout every season of life, is deserving of love and respect.  Since 1985 we have had the privilege of embodying that belief by helping older adults live their lives to the fullest.  Celebrating each of life’s seasons, we are committed to providing “caring hands for aging hearts”.

With appreciation for the opportunity to introduce you to a new Menomonee Falls based business,

Rob and Jean Henke
